Poetry and prose sharing
2nd Mondays in the month at 7.30pm. Bring a reading or two to share - light or serious as you wish.
Appreciating the depths of what someone has written opens windows of understanding on the human condition. Sitting together in a circle and taking turns to share what each of us has brought along is uplifting and fun, be it on a warm summer evening or in the depths of December. There’s no theme and this adds to the variety to be enjoyed. Everyone is welcome to read or just listen.
'Fellowship in Freedom' suppers
starting with contemplation and reflection on a set theme.
Normally fourth Wednesdays in the month at 7.30pm.
Sharing food is very much part of the community of Golders Green Unitarians. We begin seated in a circle with a short themed reflective contemplation. This is usually based on poetry or some quotations. Themes have included joy, loss, hope, togetherness, ministry and the four seasons.
Our time of meditation together is followed by a shared simple meal. Those attending either contribute food or make a financial donation towards funds to maintain the building. No previous experience of meditation is necessary.
If you intend to join us, in order to get an idea of numbers for food please let Michael Allured know in advance of the day, if possible. (mobile: 07775 25 35 20)
Groups express the life and soul of Unitarian liberal spiritual community. At Golders Green Unitarians, some groups are primarily for developing our spiritual depth and some are more for bringing us together for enjoyment.
